Jeera(cumin seeds) Rice:
Ingredients:
- Rice: 1 cup,
- Water: 1.75 glasses,
- Cumin seeds(jeera): 1 tablespoon,
- Cinnamon stick: 2 inch,
- Black cardamom: 1,
- Dry red chilli: 2,
- Bay leaves: 2 leaves,
- Ghee or oil: 2 tablespoon,
- Coriander leaves: ¼ cup (chopped),
- Salt: ½ teasppon or as per taste.
Step 1: Heat pan on flame, add ghee in it, then add cinnamon stick, dry red chilli, black cardamom, bay leaves in it and cook it for about 10-15 seconds. Add cumin seeds(jeera) in it, cook for 10-15 seconds(till golden brown) on medium flame.
Step 2: Add rice(rinsed) in it and stir it.
Step 3: Add water and salt in it, stir it. Cover it with lid and allow it to cook on high flame till boil.
Step 4: Now cook it on low flame for about 7-8 minutes or till rice soaked water.
Step 5: Turn off the flame and allow it to rest for 5 minutes.
Jeera rice is ready to serve. Remove bay leaves, cinnamon stick, black cardamom if you want.
Garnish jeera rice with coriander leaves and serve it with dal tadka.

Step 4: Now cook it on low flame for about 7-8 minutes or till rice soaked water.
