Tamarind Chutney

Tamarind Chutney (imli ki meethi chutney):

Ingredients:-
  1.  Tamarind paste: 1 cup,
  2.  Sugar: 1 cup,
  3.  Raisins: ¼ cup,
  4.  Dry palm dates: 5-6 (soaked in water for 4-5 hours)finely chopped,
  5.  Black salt: ¾ teaspoon,
  6.  Salt: ½ teaspoon,
  7.  Cardamom powder: 1 teaspoon,
  8.  Garam masala: 1 teaspoon,                
  9.  Red chilli powder: ¼ teaspoon.
Method:-
Step 1: Put a pan on flame and add tamarind paste, sugar, 1 cup of water, salt, black salt and red chilli powder in it and allow it to boil. 
Step 2: Now, add raisins, garam masala, dry palm dates in it and allow chutney to get thick in consistency(cook for about 5-7 minutes).
Step 3: Now turn off the flame and add cardamom powder in it and mix.
Tamarind chutney is ready to serve. Transfer it in bowl and serve with samosas and other type of snacks.


Tamarind chutney is very easy to make at home you just need to follow these simple steps. Homemade tamarind chutney tastes very good and is more hygienic. You can serve tamarind chutney with samosas, pakoras and other snacks. Tamarind chutney is also used in dahi  bhallas.
