Chena murki (Bengali sweet dish)
Ingredients:
- Paneer (cottage cheese): 250 grms(small pieces),
- Sugar: 1 cup,
- Water: ½ cup,
- Green cardamom: 4 (peel and coarsely grind),
- Rose water: 1 tspn.
Method:
Step 1: Take a pan, add sugar and water in it, turn on flame. Stir occasionally. Cook for about 2 minutes. Keep the flame low. Now check sugar syrup is ready, pour few drops of sugar syrup in a bowl let it cool and stick syrup on fingers and check if it makes single thread on cooling then syrup is ready.
Step 2: Add paneer pieces and cardamom powder in sugar syrup and stir it continuously on low flame until it reaches setting consistency.
Step 3: When sugar syrup reaches at setting consistency turn off the flame and remove pan from flame and keep on stirring syrup so that there is even coating on paneer and add rosewater in it.
Step 4: Cool it while stirring it for even coating on paneer. Once sugar is coated well, pick out chena murki and keep them in different bowl. Keep extra sugar syrup in pan it self.
Chena murki is ready to serve.
Chena murki is very easy to make. Make sure you make sugar syrup at right consistency. Chena murki is very delicious in taste.
Point to note➨ After adding paneer in sugar syrup you need to stir continuously so that there is even coating on pieces.
The paneer pieces should be small in size.
