Paneer pakoda
Ingredients:
- Paneer(cottage cheese): 250 grms,
- Oil: for deep fry,
- Date and tamarind chutney (How to make date and tamarind chutney be-foodie-date-and-tamarind-chutney ) ,
- Chat masala.
For batter
- Gram flour: 1 cup,
- Red chilli powder: ½tspn,
- Salt to taste,
- Soda bicarbonate: a pinch(optional).
Method:
Step 1: Cut the paneer into two-inch by half-inch by half-inch pieces. Slit each piece in half leaving one edge intact for filling.
Step 2: Stuff the date and tamarind chutney into the slit of each paneer piece.
Step 3: Prepare a batter, take a bowl, add gram flour, red chilli powder, salt, soda bicarbonate and add sufficient water to make a batter of coating consistency.
Step 4: Heat a oil in pan, dip paneer piece in batter and deep fry it, do same with all. Fry till golden brown and take it out on tissue paper. Paneer pakode are ready to serve. Sprinkle some chat masala on pokodas
Serve paneer pakode with tomato sauce or green chutney.
